Today the Newcastle Rotary Club was pleased to have guest speaker Paula Septon from the Miramichi Cross Country Ski Club. Paula is a fellow Chatham Rotarian and is the Miramichi Biathlon liaison and sits on the board. The Ski Club has been in existence for 42 years and runs purely on a volunteer basis. The MCCSC maintains 25 kilometers of groomed trails suitable for cross country skiers with all levels of experience. Ten of these are groomed for skate skiing. Four kilometers are lighted and open until 9:30 pm daily. There are six kilometers of well marked snowshoe trails through woodlands leaving from the club house. The future of the club and its biathlon program is looking very bright due to the hard work of all involved! Rotarian Stephen Lynch is shown thanking Paula for her wonderful presentation.
